Another problem is that the wolf couldn't eat.

A resolution for painting is tabbo is that one day if Volt goes in the chosen ones cave he might change painting from being taboo to it being ok to do and Tao will be able to paint in front of people.

Wednesday October 4,2006 Chapter 2

Another important event in the story is when Tao thinks the spirit is mad at him.

Thusday October 5,2006 Chapter 3
1. Tao and Ram learned how to hunt togeter.
2. The decition that Tao tells Volt is that he wanted to hunt alone.
3.I think Tao has made a bad mistake. He told me that he wants to hunt alone. He can not hunt alone because he has to learn how to hunt like the rest of us men.Besides he needs to learn how to hunt like us so we can get food for the clan people. Taos actions have made me dissapointed he needs to hunt like us with out evil ways.Fine...if he wants to hunt alone then he can go but, he can only eat when he comes back. Now I need to hunt more and harder before we dont have any more food.

Thursday October 12,2006 Chapter 8
One situation is if someone wants to paint but cant like Tao.People from his clan all follow the rules because it is taboo.I thinkk they need to change that rule because painting is a thing that everyone should be able to do.There is nothing bad about painting.Painting should not be a rule it should always be optional.IIf someone want to do it then they should be able to , and if they dont then they dont have to.NO one should make painting a rule because it is not bad or dangerous.Painting should always be optional like walking, writing or other activities.

Thursday October 16,2006 Chapter 9
I think Greybeard changed his mind because he wanted to help Tao achive his dreams. He didn't want to let Tao down. If he never changed his mind he knew that Tao wouldn't be able to follow his dreams.
I think Greybeared was acting tough on the outside and soft on the inside. If he wasn't soft in the inside he wouldn't be teaching him to paint.I think Greybeared is a little bit nicer in the inside and he could let it out and change his mind to help Tao achive his dreams. This tells me that Greybeared isn't to strict.

Thursday October 16,2006 Chapter 11
I think Greybeared is a good teacher. He is a good teacher because he make sures that Tao learns how to paint the right way.Even though Greybeared might be strict he want to help Tao and he doesn't want him to learn doing it the wrong way.Greybeared teaches Tao very good and he knows what he is doing.Greybeared make sures to show Tao what he needs to learn without rushing him so he won't feel the pressure to much to paint like him.
I might want to be taght by Greybeared to paint because he teaches Tao good things.I also like to be taught by him because he is the best painter and he will teach meto be almost perfect. He is a good personbut if he taught me I wouldn't want him to be strict because it might make it harder to learn.Grebeared could teach me a loy of things and I want to learn all painting ways by him if he offered me.

Painting in India Gutierrez,Yvana

People might say that painting is just color on paper, but there is a whole lot of history behind it. Many civilizations have different customs but my topic is painting in India. Painting was one of the seven achievements of the Gupta Empire .Some history on painting is popular subjects of paintings ,Indian artist ,how they did art ,and the Ajanta cave murals.
Indian citizens had different ways with art. Artwork was important to the wealthy noble families during this time of the Gupta Empire. Many people made art, it was done on large scrolls with a delicate hand. It was done in rich bright colors like red, purple and green, those colors were made by minerals and clay. The Indians had a special technique that later the other civilizations found out about. After they used the technique the natural colors that were made were purple, different shades of brown, yellow, blue, white, green, different shades of red, and black.
This civilization had popular subjects to painting that many people painted. One popular subject was religious stories for example, Vishnu (the happy god) this god brings happiness and in the paintings she stands on a flower. Another example was Ganesha (the elephant god) it brings wisdom and prosperity and travels always with a rat. Another popular subject was religious stories like Shiva (the Hindu god of destruction) and Mother goddess Durga she is the one who slays a demon. Other popular subjects were painting famous people, hunting scenes, and beautiful forest scenes. Wealthy people had houses full of paintings. Lots of the pictures explained Hinduism and Buddhism to the people who can not read.
Gupta artist were an important part of art. They painted portraits for many families who can afford it. They even got rewards of money to encourage them to paint more and more detailed masterpieces. In the artist manual contributed to fulfillment it says there painting is “the best of all arts”. Also many Buddhist monks made paintings too.
One very important part of ancient Indian history is the Ajanta Cave murals. The Ajanta Cave murals are located in Maharashtra. There are 30 caves all together all together, the caves show incidents from the life of Budha. These caves are dedicated to Buddhism. An interesting fact is that it is in the shape of a mammoth horse shoe. The followers of Lord Budha made the cave murals with many details. They made it with a hammer over a chisel. They showed events of his life of being a prince, one of the pictures was of him leaning his head because of his heavy crown. They also painted the Jatakas they are the former lives of Budha. These paintings were made during the second century BC-AD. Some of them were made during the fifth century AD and it continued for the next two centuries. Later on the people started to forget about the Ajanta Cave murals. Then in the year 1819 a group of soldiers discovered the caves and it finally came back alive.
Painting was always very important in India. There was the Indian artist, popular subjects in painting, and the ancient Ajanta Cave murals. Art is a very important part of India and it will continue to be for a very long time.
